Football Manager Diary – November 2015 – Where I go Gif Happy
But we didnt.
This season, weirdly even tho we are 1st in the league I genuinely feel we have a chance. This month we can even get possibly qualify for the knockout stages of the Champs League.
We look good, we’re playing well, and we have a good first 11. Will it all go tits up now?
Heres how the league looks
Heres the Champs League group
And the fixtures for the month.
After a disappointing draw against Olympiacos in the 1st leg we need 3 points to stand any chance of qualifying for the next stage. If we get them we could really do with a result against Inter, otherwise we’d need a draw or win against Barca in our final game to qualify.
4-11-2015 – Olympiacos (4th) vs West Ham (2nd) – Champions League
2 minutes is all it takes for a goal, good work down the left lands to Schneiderlin who scores. Aside from that the half is dead.
The second is much the same, despite Olympiacos starting to dominate posession. With 4 minutes left Cabrera gets sent off for them.
Olympiacos 0-1 West Ham
Champions League Position – 2nd
Barca also win against Inter, which means 1 point against Inter will see us into the knockout stage. Holy shit!
9-11-2015 – Stoke (16th) vs West Ham (1st)
I give Mertesacker and Rat a rare start each.
Carroll fluffs a chance from 4 yards just 5 mins in. A long range shot from Cameron hits the post, then Jones follows up and scores after 17mins.
It takes till the 2nd half for us to get back in it, Rat slides in Rafinha who smashes home. Vydra and Rafinha both have decent chances but fluff them as Stoke hold on.
Stoke 1-1 West Ham
Jones (17) – Rafinha (61)
League position – 1st
After the two week international break, and 3 days before our HUGE match against Inter is a chance to play the team in 18th place having lost 5 in a row
21-11-2015 – Wolves (18th) vs West Ham (1st)
A chance to rest some players and give Juanmi a rare start.
A dead first half till the 30 minute mark when Juanmi plays in Vydra whos shot is too powerful for Hennesey to hold and it hits the back of the net. Juanmis playing well, and he puts in Chadli who hits just wide. 2 mins before half time a goal kick goes short and Juanmi out powers Ricketts, goes through 1v1 and scores!
In the second half Juanmi is still too much for them, and when he gets past Maguire he gets brought down, and Maguire is off. With 10 minutes to go a long range shot from O’Hara lobs the keeper. Jesus. Thankfully 3 mins later we score again, a drilled shot from the edge of the area by 17 year old Asiamah fresh off the bench!
Wolves 1-3 West Ham
Maguire sent off (64), O’Hara (82) – Vydra (31), Juanmi (44), Asiamah (85)
League Position – 1st
Next up is the big one. Just a draw will give us a knockout stage place.
25-11-2015 – West Ham vs Inter – Champions League
8 minutes is all it takes for a goal.
Carroll has a volley tipped round the post on 13 minutes. Then on 18 Zanetti slides in on Chadli from behind and hes sent off! Its attacking from here, but at half time we’ve had 9 shots to their 1, but 0 on target
8 minutes into the 2nd half we equalise, Hangeland heading in a corner. 2 minutes later tho he gets sent off, picking up a 2nd yellow. Vydra comes on and has a decent chance. With 10 minutes to go Inter score from a rebound on a corner, but its offside. 3 minutes later tho as we press they break, and Podolski smashes in from an angle. FUCKS SAKE
Look at these fucking stats, especially Inters shots on target
West Ham 1-2 Inter
Hangeland (53) Hangeland sent off (55) – Scocco (8), Zanetti sent off (19), Podolski (84)
Champs League Position – 2nd
Fuck. We now have to go to Barca and get a result at least as good as Inters.
28-11-2015 West Ham (1st) vs Leicester (14th)
Not gonna lie, I’m in a mood after the last match.
Nedlev hits the post from a free kick, then shortly after Junami scores. Good run of form here from the youngster. Nedelev then gets brought down inside the box, and Bradley steps up and scores the pen.
10 minutes after I see one of the most ridiculous 2 footed tackles ever end in a red.
Jesus christ how early does he jump in?
Bradley signs a new contract, fending off the interest in him
The league ends and no one finishes close to any prizes this month. The board are still happy
The League looks great
The Champions League not so
And the fixtures next month?
Chelsea, Everton, Barca, Arsenal, United? Piece of piss. Especially those first three being in a week.
