So last week I was a bit disapointed with my time and was looking to bounce back. However we did do a run on wednesday, and during my pre run stretch I felt my left calf tweak, and I knew something was up. When I started running it felt really sore but I tried to push through and do it anyway.
I probably should have rested, but I did the parkrun anyway.
Worsley Woods Parkrun 26-7-14
As soon as I started running I knew I wasnt 100%. My calf was feeling sore, so I slowed and let Rach run ahead. As I ran I felt more and more comfortable, till I got to the 1.5k mark and just after going up a set of stairs I tripped over a stone and went head over heels and straight into a massive puddle of mud. Around 3 people stopped to check I was ok, and I kept going just now covered in mud.
My times were showing as pretty good, till I got to the 4k mark I was thinking I actually might get a PB. I ran past a guy who was running with his little kid who couldnt have been more than 7-8, and as I did he said “come on son, look this guys fell over and he’s going to beat you”, and as he did my calf pulled and I started hoping and saying fuckfuckfuckfuckfuck under my breath. I could barely run but I knew my time wasnt awful, so I started to half hop and half run to the end.

Rach nailed it this week tho – 30:33 & a PB
