Football Manager Diary S3 – November

Football Manager 2014 LogoWe’re 3 months deep and while it seems to be going well in reality its a mixed bag.

We win, then lose. We do well against a good team then lose to a bad team.

Time to kick on.

7-11-15 – Harrogate vs Bristol Rovers – FA Cup 1st round

Should be a walk over, I’m switching to my wingers formation as it lets me play a few more youth players.

Parkes celebrates a rare start with the opening goal from a corner. A neat move see’s Crouchy play Corry through and he gets our second. At half time we’re up and doing ok.

In the second Crouchy gets an early chance but its saved. Crouchy puts Corry through again, and he scores again! With 10 minutes left a long throw into their box sees Gwion Edwards score his first for the club. In the dying seconds Brunt goes through 1v1 and rounds the keeper to seal a win!

Harrogate 0-4 Bristol Rovers
Parkes (7) Corry (24, 65) Edwards (82), Brunt (91)
Through to the 2nd round!

We get drawn against MK Dons in the next round, and we’re playing them in another cup match right now

10-11-15 – Bristol Rovers vs MK Dons – Johnstons Paint trophy

Playing the 2 man strikeforce in this one.

Crouchy scores after 7 minutes. Dons break and equalise.

Into the second half its a little back and forth, we end up taking the lead with 20 minutes to go through Lawrence, who then hits the post 10 minutes later.

Bristol Rovers 2-1 MK Dons
Crouch (8) Lawrence (70) – Baldock (24)
Through to the next round!

At least the next match should give us a chance to continue the run. Notts County have only bagged 2 wins this season and are propping up the table.

14-11-15 – Bristol Rovers (3rd) vs Notts County (24th)

The first half is almost completely dull till 5 mins before the half when Katuka gets put through and he finishes.

In the second I bring Brunt on, and he gets put through by Katuka and chips the keeper. With 5 minutes to go a corner is headed in by Corry.

A dominant win – Notts County only had 1 shot in the entire match

Bristol Rovers 3-0 Notts County
Katuka (40), Brunt (78), Corry (85)
League Position – 1st

Theres not much going on outside games

21-11-15 – Colchester (7th) vs Bristol Rovers (1st)

Brunt starts brightly, having a shot well saved, then he gets put through by Katuka and gives us the lead. Brunt returns the favour and puts Katuka through but he misses

In the 2nd its all Bristol, Nein has a shot from range saved as we pressure, then Katuka has a shot saved. Monachello finally gives us some breathing space finishing after Katuka puts him through. Brunt then gets his second with a strong finish from the edge of the area. With 5 mins to go a rare Colchester shot sees a goal with a screamer from range tipped out by Mannone but the rebound is nabbed.

We had 24 shots to their 5

Colchester 1-3 Bristol Rovers
Naylor (85) – Brunt (21, 75), Monachello (74)
League Position – 1st

After the match I terminate Andy Johnsons contract. He’s not made an appearence this year and is nowhere near the team.

24-11-15 – Crawley (15th) vs Bristol Rovers (1st)

I’m playing the happiest centre backs in the world

24 - ParkesONein

The first goal comes from a good attack down the left and Katuka crosses for…

Peter Crouch Robot Dance

First goal in a while that.

O’Neill doubles the lead going through on an overlap and finishing well. Thats 2 goals in 2 highlights and the entirety of the 1st half.

Katuka decides fuck it in the 2nd half, and just blitzes past his man to score. A minute later tho Crawley grab a goal back. Crawley start pressuring and have a couple of chances but shoot wide every time. Its a bit of a let off

Crawley 1-3 Bristol Rovers
Leitch-Smith (47) – Crouch (10), O’Neill (25), Katuka (46)
League Position – 1st

It’s loan & free transfer deadline day, and I decide to have a quick look as I’d like some backup for if I play the formation with wingers.

End up sealing a deal for a winger from Birmingham

368 - Gray

and then I notice a real superstar, an ex Man United winger who could really let us get to the next level

369 - BEBE

MOTHER FUCKING BEBE

I AM SO FUCKING EXCITED

28-11-15 – Bristol Rovers (1st) vs Bury (21st)

ITS BEBES FUCKING DEBUT

8 minutes in tho, its another ledge who puts us in front

Peter Crouch Robot Dance

Gray, making his debut then gets the 2nd, Im guessing because all the defenders are going to the right wing to mark Bebe? On 36 minutes Bebe has an impact, crossing for guess who

Peter Crouch Robot Dance

Its 3-0 after 36 minutes. On 38 Bebe goes through but the keeper pulls off one of the most amazing saves on Football Manager Ive ever seen, saving Bebes shot that is hit straight at him with little power.

Wowzer.

Into the 2nd half, and on 70 minutes Bebe is looking tired so he comes off. Needless to say without his inspiration the match kinda slows down. With 2 minutes left Lawrence off the bench gets our 4th, then with seconds left a cross into the box is headed in by one of their defenders.

Bristol Rovers 5-0 Bury
Crouch (8, 37), Gray (19), Lawrence (88), Foster own goal (90)
League Position – 1st

End of the month and Player of the month is in

370 - POTM

wow, only one match and Bebe has already won an award. Wonder who gets youn player

371 - YPTM

Wowzer, he’s bagged the both. How about manager

372 - MOTM
