After a weeks rest I’m back and running again. To be honest though confidence is knocked. While Ive been out with an injury Rach has been nailing it, and actually started running several times a week. I’ve been in front of her for a few weeks, but I’m probably going to slip behind her again now.
And thats really annoying me
I didnt run this week because of injury. I volunteered tho 🙂
Rach finished 31:13
So last week I was a bit disapointed with my time and was looking to bounce back. However we did do a run on wednesday, and during my pre run stretch I felt my left calf tweak, and I knew something was up. When I started running it felt really sore but I tried to push through and do it anyway.
I probably should have rested, but I did the parkrun anyway.
So last week I got a personal best, for the 2nd week running, and bought a flash pair of trainers. We also joined the Sweatshop running club, so did a 5K on wednesday as well.
This week I’ll be running with my mum and family back home in Wales. I’d got down quite late on Friday, met Mum at the pub, had a few drinks and then had a few more, and a chinese. Not the best prep for a park run!
So last week I got a personal best, everything was right, I was running on my own and felt good and the weather was that just slightly cold, slightly wet that is ideal for running.
This week Rach was back, and it was absolutely roasting out. Last week she ran in Birmingham and I beat her time there, but its been a while since Ive finished in front of her.
After the closeness of getting a personal best this week, could I get it this week?
The run started out of nowhere, rather than a usual countdown so as we started I realised my iPhone had gone to sleep, so I wasn’t able to instantly start it. When I did hit go, it didn’t start – as it couldn’t find the location. So now I’m desperately trying to see it while its attached to my arm to hit continue.
Last weeks run was a real nightmare.
One of the slowest Ive done since I started back doing park runs. I just felt tired after the holiday, and not at it.
This week Ive started dieting again, keeping a count on my calories. Its time to get a bit more serious about getting fit and losing weight. How long it lasts I’m not sure, but I will try
So after a 2 week holiday I’m back and off and running.
Or not, as this update will show.
We had a great holiday in Tenerife, but there was a lot of time spent drinking and eating indulgently, and that really shows with this weeks run
So last week I didnt update the running blog, which probably made some people think it was a one time thing. Well actually the blisters I got from running 2 weeks ago left me barely able to walk so I volunteered instead. I ended up being timer, which I felt a lot of pressure on cause if I fucked up everyones gonna be mad at poor old Taffy! But we’re back to running the parkrun this week, before a 2 week break (volunteering next week and on holiday the week after).
Decided to update the blog on my running. This first one will probably be a bit longer than most. In the blogs I’m going to try and map the routes using the Runkeeper app, and post times and splits. Hopefully that will help keep track of how I’m doing.
As some of you may know, when I was 17-18 I was an active Triathlete, its something that I bring up every time any kind of physical activity gets brought up. My mum actually started doing the training first as she was dieting and as part of the diet if you did exercise you got to eat more which seemed a decent exchange. Â Growing up I was always pretty skinny and when I started doing the triathlon training I quickly became pretty good
